The Garcia Family | Family Photographer | Emily Elizabeth Photography | Ventura Pier | Thousand Oaks

Shooting at the pier takes me back to so many fun memories! I feel like I grew up on this beach. I clearly remember playing with my brother and sister in the sand, learning how to swim in the ocean and swinging on swings in my prom dress!

Whenever I'm here, my mind wanders to 2005, when I would regularly play dress-up with my best childhood friend, Grace, at her mom's portrait studio downtown. We would dress up in vintage dresses and hats, accessorize like crazy, and then walk to this beach to practice shooting and modeling with Grace's fancy DSLR camera and my little point-and-shoot-nikon.

My love for photography was born on this beach!

In June, I was lucky enough to share my love for this location and capture three generations of the Garcia family for an extended family session with my dear friend, and amazing photographer, Jamie Brown! (www.jamiebrownphoto.com). We laughed, we played, we soaked up the California sun and got tacos on the pier after! These guys were so much fun to work with!

Also, a giant congratulations is in order to Gabriel and Yekta, who got engaged just moments before we shot and were surprised with an impromptu engagement session!

This family was a dream! I can't wait for my next session at Ventura Pier!
